Gaoling Village in Jingdezhen is where kaolin was first discovered in the world, and the name "kaolin" is derived from the name of Gaoling Village. Kaolin is renowned for its fineness, purity, and excellent plasticity, making it ideal for high-temperature firing, which prevents deformation. This quality makes kaolin the best raw material for producing high-end ceramic products, providing strong support for Jingdezhen's status as the world capital of porcelain.

During our visit, we explored the museum in Jingdezhen and were amazed to discover that turning clay into ceramics involved 72 distinct processes in ancient times. We also visited many artisans' shops and admired their work. Jingdezhen is home to many skilled artisans who preserve traditional Chinese ceramic styles, alongside talented young craftsmen creating modern, varied, and sophisticated products. Unfortunately, their incredible work often goes unnoticed.
